Judgment day!!!

It was a routine conversation at work with a very good professional coworker of mine from Pakistan.  One thing led to another and we ended up having innocent and frank conversation about our beliefs.  The particular topic came into discussion was what would happen to terrorists on their Judgment day.  What would happen to #ISIS, their supporters (vocal or mute) and their victims?  My friend conveyed that his religion does not permit killing of innocent people and the terrorist are simply giving bad name to Islam.

I did not raised the topic of 72 virgins (recently mentioned on CNN news as well) as I was focused on understanding what exactly the Judgment day means.  I wanted to hear from the follower rather than googling up something.  He explained that at some point the world is going to end and that day is considered a Judgment day.  On this day the souls will be punished as per his / her karma.  (He used the word Karma, probably because he knew I’m Hindu by religion).

Immediately my mind started wondering into past history and how Islam has expanded.  Does this mean the killers and victims have to wait for millions of years to be judged?  Does this mean the soul is hanging in the mid-air suffering the agony and waiting for the Judgment day?  What is the state of living beings that died say 1000s of years ago?  I explained my beliefs of reincarnation based on theory of Karma.  Accordingly all living being take rebirth based on their past Karma; Few with complete devotion to God and no past due (based on Karma) get to become one with God (as particle).

I raised the above questions to my professional coworker.  Now he being a brilliant computer programmer and strong believer of logic had no answers.  It has been more than a week and I’m still waiting for logical explanation.  I’m interested in raising the subject again but don’t want to embarrass him either.
